country girl

 Everyone knows, I love country music, that's honestly all I ever play. I love all kinds of it, old, new, I even love the country music people say isn't even country music. When you're riding down the road, on a fall day, with your windows down, and country music coming out of your speakers with the radio up, it's just a whole different type of vibe. That's my type of vibe lol. So what about you? Do you like country music? If so, who's your favorite? Who do you consider to be some of the greats? What came to mind when I said that? Alan Jackson, Garth Brookes, Jonny Cash? They are some of the greats, I love them myself, but they're also all male. Why is that?


Country music is clearly more male dominated, but why? I personally feel like it's because a lot of producers won't give female country artist a chance to prove themselves. I also think it's because a lot of people prefer to hear a man's voice singing country music over a females. And there's nothing wrong with that, but that's just the way things go sometimes. Personally I like hearing a female country voice. Some of my favorite are Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Lauren Alaina, Lainey Wilson, and Gabby Barrett !


One of the latest country music male vs female scandals were this years CMA awards. So, here's the dirt, Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett were both put up as nominations, along with a lot of other country artist, for the "Entertainer of the Year" Award. I was SO EXCITED. I'm not even just saying this to add hype to my blog, they're both literally my favorite. I've seen Carrie Underwood in concert, and I was supposed to see Thomas Rhett this past summer, but stupid COVID (July 7th 2021 cannot come fast enough!!!). So as you can imagine I was over the moon when my favs got put up as nominees!!! Well when the winner was announced, they said it was a tie between Thomas Rhett and Carrie Underwood. I was SCREAMINGGGGGGG. BOTH OF MY FAVS WON!!!!! Sadly, everyone did not feel the same way I felt. A lot of people said Carrie Underwood truly won but the CMA didn't want a female artist alone to win...

THIS IS MY OWN OPINION CONCERNING THE THINGS FROM ABOVE 

I don't think the CMA's would've done that, like seriously. Carrie Underwood is the bomb.com and everyone knows it. She wins awards from the CMA's every year, so why would they need to call it a tie between the two if it seriously wasn't.         What's up my party people!!! It's blog #4, so y'all know the drill by now. Sit back and get ready for some South Africa knowledge :)         FACT #1: Okay, I don't know about anyone else, but my sisters make me watch the movie "Rio" all the time, and honestly, I do not complain. I've always loved the movie because of all the animals, bright colors, but most importantly the MUSIC! So basically in the movie there are these two birds and they get lost and they end up going to the Brazil traditional parade and celebration, Rio Carnival. Super great movie, 100% recommend it, but I just wanted to cover a little bit on what Carnival is and what's it's meaning. This festival is held the Friday before Ash Wednesday afternoon, the signifies the start of Lent.
